The Effects of Particulate Dentine Compared to Bio-Oss® on Bone Regeneration

Abstract: A total of 32 male Sprague Dawley rats were subjected to a surgical creation of a calvarial defect of a 5 mm diameter. The rats were divided into 4 groups of 8 rats. The first group received no graft material in the defect and was named the control group. The 2nd group received human particulate dentine. The 3rd group received a mixture of human particulate dentine and Bio-Oss.

Abstract: Approximately 5% to 15% of all facial fractures occur in children. The prevalence of pediatric facial fractures is lowest in infants and increases progressively with age. Children younger than 5-years contribute to only 1.0% of facial fractures, whereas 1.0 to 14.7% occurs in patients older than 16-years.

Trichorhinophalangeal Syndrome Type 1: Unusual Case Report and Review of Literature

Abstract: The carrier of the syndrome may present skeletal, craniofacial, and oral manifestations. The main characteristics that the individual may present are scarce hair or total alopecia, thin upper lip, long erased nasolabial filter, bulbous nose and low set ears. In the oral cavity, there may be changes such as supernumerary teeth and hypodontia, size changes, including macrodontia and microdontia, and teeth in malocclusion.

Gorlin-Goltz Syndrome: A Case Report

Abstract: Nevoid basal cell carcinoma syndrome usually presents as an autosomal dominantly inherited syndrome with variable phenotypic expression. The aim of this study was to report a case of this syndrome based on clinical, radiographic, and histopathological findings. Male patient, 13-years-old, attended the Oral Diagnostic Clinic from State University of Paraiba, complaining of mandible swelling. On physical examination, left facial asymmetry was found, with mandible swelling and inflammatory submandibular lymphadenopathy.
